Quick Update -- February 24, 2010
Thank
you to all of our friends and supporters who have been praying for our
safety, and guidance. God is faithful, and we have been cared for very
well. "More Beyond" has performed beautifully, and we are now
sitting in a safe harbor in Nassau.
We had a wonderful crossing, and God directed our course as we asked
Him what paths in the sea He recommended. He has helped us to be in
the right place at the right time to avoid squalls and dangers. The
girls have been real troopers as we did have one day of pretty heavy seas.
The girls spent four hours down inside the cabin playing energetically as
we pounded through the heavy surf--they said they loved jumping up and
"flying" as the boat fell out from under them to crash
into another wave trough--all this with no sea sickness! thanks for
praying for us.
We
were able to arrange with Pastor James ahead of time that he would leave
our work papers with his friend who owned a marina here. We met with him,
and picked up the precious documents. We then cleared customs and
immigration with no problems. We are now legitimate missionaries in the
Bahamas with a full year of permission to reside and work in the country
with First Assembly Salt Pond.
We are now meeting up with important contacts in the Port Authority. I
got an audience with the top man of the port today. He is very favorably
disposed toward us--as God is granting us favor on behalf of His Kingdom
advancing in these islands and among these people. Please pray that as we
work to help the Islanders in practical vocational training, we will not
loose or main focus of working to see that Jesus is glorified in and
through this nation. Pray also, that we will have the gracious hand
of the Lord with us as we continue the remainder of our voyage back to
Long Island.
We love and Appreciate you all!
Reuben, Debra, Rachel, and Stella
