“Saltair” and the S.A.L.T. boys
We
are making great progress on the sailing vessel “Saltair”. It is
steadily being transformed from a horrible mess to a beautiful vessel of
honor. This is a 29 foot object lesson for the S.A.L.T. boys to see that
with God, nothing is impossible, by faith all things are possible, and if
they put their faith in Jesus they can’t even begin to imagine what He
can do with their lives. The boys are working together with my dad and me
every week on the refit. They are learning how to polish gel coat, how to
sand teak and do brightwork, they are learning diesel mechanics, rigging
work, sail terminology and construction, etc. etc. The boys are so excited
about working on “their own little ship”.
God is making great progress on the refit of the lives
of these boys as well. Jehu and Jarad are part of Rick and Sandy’s
mission team that is preparing to come to Richmond this summer. We have
turned a corner with the boys. They really trust and love us, and they
seem to be listening to the things we are teaching them.
